Join us as a Software Engineer

  • We’re looking for a Software Engineer with experience of implementing client or server architectures to join our IT team

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll be supporting our RHEL Unix application used for digital client on-boarding. You’ll be involved in release deployments or troubleshooting tasks in both test and production, as well as helping to identify long-term improvement ideas and create technical requirements.

In order to coordinate the delivery and implementation of technical enhancements, you’ll liaise closely with the supplier of our digital on-boarding solution, bringing your front or backend engineering experience to developments.

You’ll also be:

  • Coordinating with users, projects and businesses to support technical enquiries by helping us to manage stakeholders to get an understanding of their needs
  • Making sure the right technical infrastructure is in place
  • Managing the environment and making sure the application with its API interfaces are correctly deployed and usable for each team
  • Supporting our ‘Run-the-Bank’ journey through incident management, as well as Change-the-Bank projects by providing recommendations, end-user consulting and solution designs

Your technical skillset might include:

  • Knowledge of Unix systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux,
  • An IT or technical background, with a computer science degree or equivalent
  • Familiarity of JFrog Artifactory, GitLab, Jenkins, and Oracle Databases, and the ability to write SQL queries in RDBMS systems
  • Experience of Neo4j, Solr and Kafka
  • Experience of frontend engineering, including ReactJS, HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, Redux, CSS and SCSS
  • Experience of backend engineering, including Java, Maven, IntelliJ, JSON and Linux Shell scripting

  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours and provide on-call services on weekends and weekdays
